iVIS laser:

I've been reading about the iVIS laser, which I understand is available in Norway. Apparently, it enables surgeons to provide customized laser treatments on irregular eyes. I'm not sure if it can be used to improve corneal scars; I'll have to do more research when I have time. I'm posting this partly as a reminder to myself and partly so that you can research it yourself if you're so inclined.

Here's a concise description of what the iVIS does: link.

UPDATE:

I've confirmed (by speaking with patients) that in some cases, the iVIS laser can be used to remove corneal scarring. From what I can tell, this is a very new technology that hasn't yet been approved in many countries. I know of a few people who've opted to travel to Oslo for surgery. Hopefully, in time, the technology will become available to those of us who live outside of Europe.
